Annual Studio Calendar Overview

 At Dixon Dance Studio, our yearly schedule follows the rhythm of the Dixon Unified School District calendar, with a few exceptions unique to our performance season. Below is a general overview of when we are typically open, closed, and what families can expect throughout the year.

Specific dates are always posted on our Studio Calendar and updated annually. 

 DDS is closed for the following holidays and breaks each year:

• Presidents Week
• Spring Break
• May Fair Weekend
  • Closed the Friday of May Fair
  • Closed Saturday for the May Fair Parade & festivities
• Memorial Day
• Labor Day
• Veterans Day
• Thanksgiving Week
• Winter Break (two weeks)
• Recital Break — Three weeks following our annual Summer Recital
   

We are also closed for:

• The week leading up to the Winter Showcase
• The week leading up to the Annual Summer Recital

 We remain OPEN on the following days:

• Martin Luther King Jr. Day
• Columbus / Indigenous Peoples’ Day

• Winter Showcase: Held one of the first two weekends in December each year.
• Summer Recital: Held one of the last two weekends in June each year.
   

Because these events are major productions, families should expect:

• A rehearsal week prior to each show (studio closed to regular classes)
• Additional rehearsal opportunities as needed, depending on level, class, and performance group.

 This overview gives families a general sense of our yearly rhythm, but exact dates are always published on our live Google Calendar, which is updated throughout the year as school calendars, performances, and community events are finalized.
